2019 Odyssey Safety Features
The Honda Odyssey has been a go-to family vehicle for decades now, offering families dependable performance, spacious comfort, and smart safety. When considering your next family vehicle, these features are often the ones most considered. You can rest assured that the new 2019 Odyssey takes your family’s safety just as seriously as you do, as it offers an array of standard active safety features for the first time ever.
Standard Honda Sensing®
Honda Sensing® is a state-of-the-art suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies, and it comes standard on the 2019 Odyssey EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. The suite includes:
Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning: The Odyssey’s CMBS™ monitors the road ahead of you and alerts you as you approach the vehicle ahead. If it detects an unavoidable collision, it automatically helps brake the vehicle, helping mitigate the collision or avoid it altogether.
Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning: This system uses a camera to monitor road and lane markers. If it detects that you are about to leave the road or your lane without signaling, it will alert you and provide steering/braking assistance if needed.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): With Adaptive Cruise Control, your vehicle can automatically maintain a set speed and following interval while on the highway. If the system detects a vehicle in your path, it will automatically slow your vehicle; once your path is clear, it will accelerate back up to the set speed.
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): The Lane Keeping Assist System helps you stay safely and snugly within your lane. If it detects that you are straying from the center of your lane, it can apply mild steering adjustments to maintain your position in the lane.
Further advanced features are available, including a Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor and automatic high-beam headlights. Get a better understanding of how all of these technologies work by taking the 2019 Honda Odyssey out for a test drive at Hardin County Honda!
